Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week stress reduction program based on intensive training in mindfulness. According to the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical Center, MBSR can help you “learn how to take better care of yourself through the interplay of mind and body, mobilizing your own inner resources for coping, growing and healing.”
Brick Canvas is pleased to offer this course, with a certified MBSR instructor, Tanji Wolfert. Participants will better understand the physiology of stress in the body and how to manage it through guided meditation and mindfulness practices. This will include gentle stretching, mindful yoga and group discussion with mindful communication. Experience enhanced peace of mind, as well as improved health and well-being through MBSR.
Weeks 1-4: Become aware through mindfulness. Explore and understand the mind/body connection and being with what is here.
Weeks 5-6: Stress and communication lessons. Identify what is here and how we work with it in the body. All day retreat.
Weeks 7-8: Transition and apply MBSR into everyday life.
